THE NEXUS BETWEEN BUDGET DEFICIT AND EXCHANGE RATE UNIFICATION IN NIGERIA

The paper examined the effect of exchange rate unification on budget deficit in Nigeria. Using time series data from secondary sources covering the period 1981 and 2022 and the ARDL bound test technique, the study found evidence of a long-run equilibrium relationship between budget deficit and the official exchange rate.
